Agüero put them ahead after a return pass from Diego Forlán, and Simao made it two before Bodipo headed one back with three minutes left on the clock. Mallorca 2 0 Almeria Mallorca added to their points total with victory over Almería. Cléber Santana got the first with a spectacular overhead kick, and substitute Castro wrapped things up in the final minute. Numancia 0 0 Espanyol Numancia and Espanyol did themselves no favours in a match which ended scoreless. The referee waved away appeals by Espanyol for hand ball when Moreno blocked an effort from Tamudo on the line, and then disallowed a goal from Sánchez. Osasuna 2 1 Athletic Bilbao Osasuna made it four wins on the trot after they beat Athletic Bilbao. Masoud got the first midway through the first half, and although Ocio headed the equaliser three minutes later, Sergio got the winner following a corner with ten minutes to go. Racing Santander 2 3 Real Betis Betis got their new coach off to the best possible start when Edu and Emaná cancelled out goals from Luccin and Zigic before the break, then Emaná got the vital winner in the second half. Real Madrid 2 0 Valladolid Real Madrid kept pace with Barcelona once again, maintaining the six point gap with their rivals. Raúl opened the scoring near the end of the first half and Robben got the second after Guti set him up with six minutes to go. Sevilla 0 1 Getafe Sevilla were beaten by Getafe but hit the woodwork three times in the process. Uunable to beat debutant keeper Stojkovic, Gavilán struck the winner past Palop with ten minutes to go to take some pressure off coach Víctor Muñoz. Sporting Gijon 2 3 Valencia Valencia moved back up in to the top four after a win at Sporting Gijón. Silva opened the scoring but a Barral penalty levelled shortly before the break. Villa converted a penalty, and although Bilic made it all square, Mata ran through to score the winner near the end. Saturday, 11 April 2009 Barcelona 2 0 Recreativo Huelva Barcelona got off to the best possible start when Iniesta turned in a cross from Henry with less than a minute gone. The second goal came midway through the second half, when Morris turned a cross past his own keeper. Villarreal 0 2 Malaga Villarreal slipped up at home to Málaga when Duda opened the scoring shortly before the break, and Albert Luque set up Eliseu for the second near the end. The win moved Malaga up to sixth and into Europe. |
