Pandiani scored twice to take Osasuna clear of the relegation spots. Espanyol 3 1 Deportivo La Coruna Alonso and De la Peña put Espanyol two up in the first half, with Lassad getting one back before the break. A Lopo own goal in injury time completed a vital win for Espanyol. Sporting Gijon 0 2 Racing Santander With nine games to go any three of ten teams could go down, although Racing Santander distanced themselves from the relegation battle with a win at Sporting Gijón later in the evening. Valencia 4 1 Getafe A Mata strike and a Villa penalty set Valencia on their way, and although Casquero got one back with another spot kick, a goal from Albiol and a third penalty from Villa made sure of the three points. Saturday, 04 April 2009 Almeria 3 0 Villarreal Fourth placed Villarreal lost ground after a defeat at Almería, with goals from Negredo, Piatti and Mané wrapping things up by half time. To make matters worse, Cazorla was carried off with a broken leg in the second half. Athletic Bilbao 2 1 Mallorca Athletic Bilbao beat Mallorca for their first win in eight games, Javi Martínez getting the winner after Jurado had cancelled out Yestes third minute penalty. Malaga 0 1 Real Madrid Real Madrid kept in touch with Barcelona after a win at Málaga, Higuaín running through from the halfway line to get the winner early in the second half. Real Betis 3 3 Numancia Betis and Numancia are both in trouble after they played out a draw, three of the goals coming from the penalty spot. Recreativo Huelva 0 1 Sevilla Sevilla won at neighbours Recreativo, a Kanouté penalty enough to take the three points. Valladolid 0 1 Barcelona Barcelona stay six points clear after beating Valladolid, with Etoo picking up Xavis return pass to score the only goal shortly before half time. |
