Casa Jerez Ana is a large elegant townhouse from 1890, situated in the middle of
the historic part of Jerez de la Frontera. The house is on two floors and
from the main entrance you can walk directly into the open and roomy patio
with many of the architectural details which are typical of Andalucian houses from
this period. On hot days a shade can be pulled over the patio to keep direct sunlight
out, and the patio is of course the place where one wants to relax with a glass of
cold sherry after a long and busy day in the sun. The ground floor also offers two
large and cool sitting rooms behind 50 cm thick walls.
A wide staircase in marble leads up to the first floor of elegant marble tiles and
a gallery that goes around the patio-area, from here you can relax in a choice of
two lounges with comfortable furniture. The five spacious bedrooms on this floor
each have their own tiled bathroom with tub or shower.
The dining-room has tables for 16 people. Adjacent to the dining-room you have a
fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook a beautiful dinner.
In the Galleria de la Riva, named after the people we bought the house from, you
can serve a candle-lit dinner for four to six persons in Andalucian elegance.
The stay in Casa Jerezana is based on self-catering, but every 4th day our
helper Maribel will come by, change the linen on the beds, wash floors,
dust the place, water the plants and do other chores which she finds to
be necessary. Maribel is married to Miguel, who is the caretaker of the
house. Maribel and Miguel are also the people who will meet and greet
you when you arrive at the house. Our two helpers only speak Spanish,
but Anne Lill, who speaks fluent Spanish and can translate your wishes,
is only a phone call away.
